Location: Tampa, FL | There's a Melissa Ehtridge 12 string on ebay with a really attractive price. The only questionable item I noticed was a comment about "the bridge was modified slightly to improve action as preferred by the owner"
So I asked the seller if he could be more specific about what was modified.
The seller responded "The bridge was moved down (towards the bottom of the guitar) about 3/4 of an inch. That's about it; I hope that answers your question. If you have more questions, feel free to ask."
Only one question:
How do you move the bridge in that fashion and still end up with a playable guitar? Any idea what he really meant to say? |

Or, on the other hand maybe he is confused. Or maybe the bridge really was moved and now is totally unplayable and that's why the price is so low. Dave |

Location: Tampa, FL | No personal interest in this, but I did hear back from the seller. He indicates the confusion was due to a language barrier, which is likely since what he said truly didn't make any sense at all. He actually meant to say the action was lowered. The bridge position does sound to be correct. This one cold be a relative deal, kind of wish I hadn't just purchased an old Pacemaker. But my last vintage purchase (oldish 1111-4) leaves me not feeling all that sorry. I think a '73 Pacemaker will be just fine for this GASbag. |

I'd be worried that there'd be some buzzing if the action was lowered very much on the ME 12-string. I took a shim out, got buzzing, and ended up putting it back.
