Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Not brought home yet, but, put a down-payment at my local dealer (Earharts Electronics) for a Hamer Monaco Elite - Indigo finish. Plan on getting it paid off before next month's gig (ah credit card). Will post pics when it's home.
Non-O content I know, but can't help it. Very excited about this one.
Anyone who's been on the tour can appreciate the craftsmanship in the Hamer guitars...
Next GAS attack will be relieved with an O purchase. Hmmmm, 12-string Legend LX model or wait, a Mandocello could be worked into some band tunes...
Really Honey, really it's all for the band, yeah, that's it... :p |

Location: Waurika OK | Sounds beautiful. Now we must have another jam so we can see it. By the way, what is your other Hamer? We didn't get it out of the case that night. |

Location: Scotland | Stephen, if you restring a mandocello as an octave mandolin or (presumably Irish) bouzouki you'll need to have a new nut made, as mandocello strings are all wound and are massive compared to bouzouki. Mandocello scale length is way too long to work as a tenor or octave mandola |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | The mandocello is tuned the same as a mandolin, correct? |

Location: 6 String Ranch | It's in 5ths but the mando-C is C,G,D,A and a mandolynn is G,D,A,E (or so I've been told).
Very good choice in electric by the way. |

You are correct about the strings....they are huge.....but ohhhhh, what a rumbling massive sound! |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Picked up my Monaco Elite yesterday. I'll get some pics posted soon. Had to sweet talk Mrs. Paul Wag (but honey I'm getting those tickets to U2 at American Airline Center for your birthday, remember) when I walked in with it. Anyway it is a beautiful guitar, got the official certificate signed by Mr. Untemyer and Mr. Dantzig. Was informed this particular guitar was hand delivered by Mr. Untemyer.
All the rest of my gear (amplifier) is at our rehearsal space and I'll head over there tonight to give it a nice breaking in...
My bandmate remarked that once I own this guitar I'll have an instrument better than my ability. (We keep her around as she sings better than us guys and looks a hell of a lot better!) Will gives me cause to pratice electric a lot more, being such a great guitar to play. :D :D :D |
