The final price did not go much higher than the first bid. Good deal as well as a good guitar?
A full report ASAP, please.
Off topic??? Not really. |

You will most certainly get a review.
As you and who all else know, I LOVE O's...
But this woody, gives me a woody, sorry, Woody. |

It's OK to have a wood box, but when you have such nice Ovations, you have to be selective what you bring in the fold. Looks like you chose well.
This will add nice sonic and aesthetic texture to your collection. |

Just so we know you won't be too disappointed, have it sent directly to me so that I can at least attempt to make it presentable and playable for you. I seen these beasts before and they usually take 2-3 months of extreme work to make them worth a damn.
You have my address.....I will be looking out for it (in an ugly brown box I assume ;) ) |

Location: Earth·SolarSystem·LocalInterstellarCloud·Local Bub | the Lowden has arrived....
The Specs:
-Western Red Cedar Soundboard
-East Indian Rosewood Back & Sides
-Abalone, Rosewood/Sycamore/Mahogany/Walnut Rosette
-Mahogany Binding
-Sycamore/Rosewood/Walnut Purfling
-Ebony Fingerboard
-Gold Plated Gotoh Tuners
-5 piece Mahogany Neck
Absolutely STUNNING! As beautiful a guitar as I have ever seen. Just stunning. The workmanship is unbelievable. Not just flawless, hyper-expert. The hands that made this are the hands of an accomplished artist. I will post pics later today...
Sound:
Big and earthy. Slighty dark with lots ring. At first take the sound seems to pervade the entire space round me, where the FD14/Uterus shoot the sound out in front. It has a completely different acoustic ambience than the O's. The O's have a more compressed tone, but they definitely hold their own next to a guitar that, new, costs almost three times more.
It will take sometime getting used to playing a wood box. Not nearly as comfortable as the O's....
But make no mistake boys and girls this is an utterly incredible instrument. |

I see that it has a pinless bridge. Does Lowden supply the necessary tubes for proper string changing? If not, see if Cliff can get you some of those Pyrex ones. A guitar like this deserves the best. ;) |

I recommend winning the lottery...
This guitar is really amazing all the way round.
I'm still in a bit of disbelief I scored this one...at the price I did. |

and though this ain't a Martin...
I gotta say this guitar is truely a world class instrument. One of the astounding characteristics of this guitar is that the sound board and bracind are not sawn, but hand split along cleavage lines so that they get the strongest wood per weight possible.
It's really somthin' |
