It's a song written by Eddy Arnold that spells out the true meaning of Christmas.
Silent Night,(a close second). |

Just on their own musical merits, I like "Sleigh Ride" and "O Holy Night" |

Location: Portland, OR | On the traditional stuff, I like "I'll Be Home For Christmas" because of its historical place in the generation above me. "White Christmas" is a close second.
Also, I like some of the new/old songs like "Night of Silence" that combine counter-melodies. There are others. Lots of good stuff. |

Could you post a link to this song? I've never heard it but I like a lot of stuff Hartford did. |

I really like O Holy Night for singing, mostly because of the crescendos at the end. |

For a disc I got as a lark it has certainly exceeded expectations. |

Location: Minden, Nebraska | I was captivated this year by the Celtic Woman Christmas concert DVD. Extraordinary singers with wonderful arrangements backed by excellent musicians and choir. Leave it to the Irish to come through again.... There's not a lot of guitar in it, but that's forgivable this time.
My new favorite is The Wexford Carol - which I learned from this concert, and I've spent many hours this last week working on a suitable arrangement. David Downes is an arranger that makes me want to go burn all my arrangements. |

it is really good. I recently had the opportunity to play in a combo with Jack Byrd, Charlie's brother. Different approach, but still very good. |
