one of my electrics has developed a whitish discoloration on the rosewood fretboard in spots thats runs along the grain of the wood...

doesn't affect playability at all...is this normal and is there a remedy?

a fine 000 Steel Wool should buff it out.

Could be several things from some oxidation to treatment buildup.

Have you cleaned it with naptha, then replenished the wood with mineral oil?
