Location: Upper Left USA | The one and only 2005 quasi -reissue Deacon 12 can be found in several parts of my house. The NOS neck is in the Conservatory, the Phat Cat and Deacon electronics are in there as well. The body, now bare wood, is awaiting direction on who and how it can be resprayed in the sunburst to match the neck. :D |

Location: GA USA | Fact is, Larry, they are still affordable, and you can probably find one that needs some work and do some project work on it. Since there won't be any reissues, do some restoration and brig back a classic.
Since the body style is so beautiful, I think it's only a matter of time until some major playa showcases one and they are hot. Most people who see mine still had no idea there was such a thing. You don't forget it once you've seen it. |

Location: Plattsburgh, NY | Thanks for the input. I'm a preacher player and I have restored and sold a breadwinner (didn't really like it too much). Not in a position to buy another one yet, I feel like I have to make the money of a rockstar before I buy guitars like a rockstar!
Nonetheless, I plan on restoring my preacher back to it's original state, but I play it so much I can't take it out. I've been thinking about another preacher just because they are so damn playable. Also still on the hunt for UKII but not sure if I will like it as much. Almost bought the one on ebay but like I said, can't dump 800 bucks on an axe until I earn that with the tunes!

Location: Phoenix AZ | It's been said before, but I'll say it again. If you want a modern Ovation solidbody that kicks the ass off anything else, go buy a HAMER. They are better than any original O solidbody ever was or any reissue ever would be. Plus the headstock is sooo big that you can take it to a skilled woodworker and he can shape it into a traditional Ovation headstock for you. Dave |
