It's the "LX" typography that irks me.
It's kind of a "LetterHead"-thing, and really doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot . . . except in my feeble, little demented world . . . .
(btw, Jeff: can't see the pic - get a real computer;-) |

I couldn't fit a standard TRC on the slothead U681 so I modified the one it came with:

...Fugly?? ...ebony?? is it the font on the thing, the size or the number of screws? or do you like the bezeled B/W look?

I hate the plain ebony on a black gloss background. The screw is OK. I just think the whole thing looks like a complete afterthought. Like at the last minute somebody realized the truss rod hole was not covered so they just grabbed a scrap of wood from the bin and stenciled on some bad looking font and slapped it on. To each his own. Ovations for years and years sported the plan b/w/b triangulated TRC and that's what I like to see on them even today. Dave |

I love the ebony buttons too! I have them on my customized `95 Les Paul Studio.
But, why putting Shaller kind of tuner buttons on grover machines? no no no ... impossible! ;) |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I'm with Cliff and Dave on the LX TRCs....I don't like the font they used for "LX". Doesn't fit. It's also strange that the 1771LX and 6778LX TRCs are rosewood; it looks weird against the black headstock.
A more appropriate font on a black TRC would look good, IMHO.

I never liked the scripty little font either. A perfect place for a little inlay though. |
