I guess it's already over for our friends in Oz, it's still thanksgiving in Boise and where Temp lives it's still 1953. It's 5pm here in the cradle of civilization.

So taking the average I guess it's time to quote the original Tiny Tim and say "A Very Merry Christmas To Everyone"!

You're in Greece for the holidays?!? Does that mean you get to celebrate again on the Eastern Orthodox calendar?

Merry Christmas to The Empire.

It seems like we went right from Thanksgiving to Christmas here at the edge of civilization. I just finished telling Miles' story to a former radar operator. Hope everyone has a peaceful Christmas.

Thanks, Chris. I don't know if Christmas will ever be as much fun as when the kids were little and we'd set up the video camera to capture them running down the hall looking to see what Santa brought. Then we'd tell them we forgot to start the camera and send them back to their rooms to reenact it. Not quite ready for grandkids yet, so maybe we'll get the old tapes out and play them for the adults.

Yes Mark it used to be great when the kids woke up early and rushed into your room - now with a 20yo you have to go and wake him and this was the first year he didn't leave food and drink (scotch) out for santa :(

An hour and 15 minutes to go, so, without further ado, Merry Christmas to all of you, wherever (and whenever) it's officially the 25th.

I didn't get myself a stringed-thing for Christmas (yet), but there may just still be hope for the celebration of Epiphany. Time will tell.......

It's just about done and dusted down here. Eating and drinking all day. Just got out of the pool and about to tuck into some leftovers and a bit more amber fluid. Kids have had a great day as have I and SWMBO. Hope it's the same for everyone else. Merry Christmas.

There's no need to make that wish again
Because it's Christmas morn in Michigan.

No barbeque on the deck as in the past,
There's enough snow on the ground till spring to last.

The kids are all grown, our parenting complete,
There's no long the patter of small slippered feet.

So I'll choose a guitar and sit in the chair
And remember the days back when I had hair.
I'll pluck a few strings and look at the tree
And be grateful for my friends in the old OFC.

Merry Christmas

Thanks to all of you and let me be the first to wish you all a Merry Christmas from the Mountain Time Zone (the first on Christmas).
It's a quiet Christmas morning. I'm the only one up. Christmas Eve ended so poorly that I forgot to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas last night. Let's just say I'm glad I got everyone home safe from a bar and I was thankful for that. Had some help from small miracle, besides the fact that I was the sober one. The worst snow storm I have seen since we moved here stopped just before midnight, as we were driving home. The big snow storm turned to rain this morning. The family is all snuggled safe in bed, the coffee is done and I'll just wait for everyone to wake up and start a new day. They'll each get one warning that the events of last night will not be discussed so we can have Peace On Our Little Chunk of Earth for one day at least.
Don't worry, pics of the new Balladeer will follow.

Merry Christmas from Texas, y;all and a very sincere Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All to all of you.

Now I'll continue a Christmas ritual I started when I was 5 and have continued to this day - namely, waiting anxiously for everyone else in the house to wake up.

Update (what else am I going to do for a couple hours until someone else gets up?) I can't wait to open up the Balladeer. The rain turned to heavy snow and if it keeps up like this, we'll get several more inches. I shovelled the walks at 7 and there's almost an inch of snow on top now.
Brought in the paper and on the front page is a picture of an old friend of ours, whose family does an auction of "gifts" instead of a gift exchange every year and then gives the proceeds to a needy family. I'm proud to have friends like that.

Happy Christmas to all from the Oregon Territory!

It's not snowing today, but we've plenty left from earlier, so it's an unusual (these days) White Christmas for us.

Here\'s my Christmas contribution.

thanks for thinkin' of me, muzz. and a very "Murray Christmas" to you also.
it's still dark thirty here as i'm enjoying a warm cup of mocha anticipating the awakening of my wife and children, who all happen to be snuggled together this morning. my daughters climbed into our bed somewhere around 2am.
and although the times seem more troubled now, my heart is always made happier with the memories of Christmas past. so it's time to make memories for the kids now and to bask in the blessing of it all. hark! do i hear little feet in the hallway?

Great song John, and a unique point of view.
Nobody gives the good fathers of the world enough credit.
Theirs is a conscious act of will and character
rather than nature.
