Switching OP Pre-amps

I have an Ovation 6778 LX with the OP Pro and an Ovation Pinnacle with the OP 30. I think I like the OP 30 better. I tried switching them - it fit perfectly- but it would not function properly (the OP 30) in the Ovation 6778 LX.... Any simple mods? Plugs for both pickup and output. Not sure about the OP30. Probably just a matter of unplugging them - if they used the same plug size for both preamps. My guess is they did.
