Is it possible to switch OP pre-amps from one guitgar to another? I have an Ovation 6778 LX with the OP Pro and an Ovation Pinnacle with the OP 30. I think I like the OP 30 better. I tried switching them - it fit perfectly- but it would not function properly (the OP 30) in the Ovation 6778 LX.... Any simple mods?

Thanks!

The cans are different. Switch them too.

BHB's right. While the preamp body shape is the same, the cans are wired differently.

Loooks like 2 screws on the exterior- is the wiring on the back of the can easy to remove- ie NOT soldered?

The OPPro is easy. Plugs for both pickup and output. Not sure about the OP30. Probably just a matter of unplugging them - if they used the same plug size for both preamps. My guess is they did.
