I'm interested in an Ovation 12 string and there are a couple on ebay. Can anyone tell me the difference between a model 1115 and a model 1615? From the reference site, a 1115 should be a deep bowl 12 string, and 1615 an acoustic/electric 12 string? Is there any way to tell whether a 1615 has a deep bowl? Thanx!

OK, boy do I feel stupid -- I misread the chart. They both are deep bowl. However, can anyone enlighten me on the differences? Thanx!

Welcome Bill!

1115 is an Acoustic only and 1615 has the preamp and volume package.
Ovation model numbers are sometimes confusing.

The 1115 and 1615 Pacemakers are very nice early 12 strings. Check out some in the gallery.

Hello MWoody, I notice you have an AA12-4. I have one also and a AA14-4. These are really durable guitars and sound great for what they cost. I posted elsewhere , but haven't had any respones to my question. Thought maybe you could help or steer me to someone who can. Do you know if a 12 string version was made with the one piece metal/aluminum fretboard? If so , do you know where one is available? Thanks for your time

BPB, I believe there was one made, but I haven't a clue where you could buy one....watch eBay.

I also have a 1976-vintage AA14-4.

Yes, I had one in 1984. I gave it to a girlfriend. I have seen two or three in the last few months on Ebay and craigslist.org.
