Hey guys....I know it's WAY early, but the powers that be here at the workplace are falling over themselves trying to figure out next year's vacation already....

I remember early on there was discussion that perhaps in 2006 the tour would be held earlier like in April...

Any ideas on at least which month? I figure if I knew at least the month, I could book all the friday's...

thanks in advance..

Ernie

I'm geeked for the next tour also. But probably not as geeked as Erniewan.
Rumors at the time had it earlier than mid-June to avoid the Fathers Day / graduation things, but later than mid-March to get some better weather.

Ha! 2 years ago the gathering was in March and the weather was great. This year it was in June and we got rained on quite a bit!

It will be held on July 7, 2006. Anyone with a birthday that day will receive a new guitar.

Say it and it will be true!

I like your thinking Woody, but may I suggest June 4th. There is not a conflict with the holiday that way. ;) :p :D

getting the tour together is much work. Coordinating everyone and everything is not an easy task. If you remember I have to revert back to my old school teaching days and herd folks along like I did my former students. Currently I am in the middle of building a garage and studio and very stressed out. I will make the tour happen but how about we get past the next few months and the holidays and look towards jan as a projected date to get it all together???

I'm sorry if I stressed anyone out, it's just that I work in a department that is very understaffed and will be for 2006. Getting short notice vacation time is a difficult task. They prefer having the entire year's vacation scheduled by the end of January.

Co-workers are already claiming days in the late spring and I didn't want to miss a chance to attend next year's tour.

That's all.

Don't Sweat It Erniewan. We asked the same thing at around the same time after the 2004 tour. Everyone had such a great time and it was such fun that everyone was ready to hear about the next one. Al will let everyone know in probably mid to late January, Possibly Febuary when He has some details to give.
In otherwords...relax man..it's all good. :)

My company is very busy producing the paints and clearcoats that Ovation uses to paint their guitars...

Actually, I'm in charge of the laboratory that tests the material before it's allowed to ship..

We just happen to be very understaffed...

Thank you, Al. Don't listen to Weasy, we do appreciate you more than that. I know it's a lot of work and time organizing things like this, with little reward.

So some of us say, with appreciation, THANKS! for all you do.

Hope you know I'm only razzin' ya, Al. I can only imagine the work that goes into the entire deal and I think we've all heard about the amount of fun that's been had. I'd hate to wear out my welcome before I even got there (although if I had a nickel for every time THAT'S happened...).

Thanks in advance for '06 (assuming, of course, that I'm going to be allowed in) and the next time I'm in line for a new git, rest assured, you will be contacted.
