Location: NJ | In honor of my impending 50th (Friday, Feb. 24th), Jeanette and I have decided to celebrate with a Cruise.
She has a friend who handles all of her company's Corporate Travel arrangements, and also has her own business booking/arranging Cruises.
She (Donna) has booked us as a "Group" (so far, we've got about 6-8 people), and told us that the bigger we can make this "Group", the better the chances of getting a better price on rates ("how much" would be dependent upon "how many").
"H-m-m-m-m-m-m-m" me thinks.
Why not turn this into a big friggin' floating GuitarParty/Mid-Winter Escape??
I ran this by Al/Miles, and they gave me "the Nod".
Here's the "Deal" :
Review the Details below. If you're interested, contact me and I will put you in contact with Donna. Donna will handle ALL of the details, arrangements, collection of funds. If we can muster up enough people, the Rates will be adjusted accordingly by the level of discount we'd be entitled to.
The Cruise:
Norwegian Cruise Line's “Norwegian Dawn”
11Day/10-Night Cruise (Thurs. Feb. 23rd – Sun. Mar. 5th)
The Itinerary:
Thurs. Feb. 23 - Departs New York
Fri. Feb. 24 - (Cliffie gets FitShaced) At Sea
Sat. Feb. 25 - At Sea
Sun. Feb. 26 - Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas USVI
Mon. Feb 27 - Road Town, Tortola BVI
Tues. Feb 28 - Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Wed. Mar 1 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
Thurs. Mar 2 - At Sea
Fri. Mar 3 - Great Stirrup Cay (NCL's private island)
Sat. Mar 4 - At Sea
Sun. Mar 5th - Return to New York
The Rates (as they stand right now):
Inside Cabin-$929/pp,
OceanView Cabin-$1,029/pp,
Balcony-$1,319/pp
Whilst I realize that (with a NYC departure), any OFC'ers who MIGHT wanna participate would probably be those from here in the Northeast, but it's pretty much an open invitation to ANYONE who might be able to "swing it".
All are Welcome!
If anyone's interested, contact me and I'll keep you apprised as details unfold . . .
This could be Fun! |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Sorry, Cliff. I can't tell my wife about this because we just got back from Napa Valley for her 50th. We both flew for free and rented a cheap car, but we did spend a lot on food and wine. She'd love to go on a cruise, too. About the only way I could talk her out of it is to show her your picture and a few of the llama posts. "You want to spend 10 days on a boat with this guy?"
Congratulations anyway. 50 is young. |

Never done a cruise before but lady stonebobbo perked right up as she has fond memories of running through rainstorms in San Juan. And our anniversary just happens to coincide with the stop in San Juan. Synchronicity?
Stupid question, but is the fee all-inclusive? |

I'll either find out the "particulars" and post 'em here, or I'll have Donna contact you via e-mail . . .
bobbo;
My understanding is that it's "all-inclusive" with the exception of gratuities and alcohol (but I will research).
I'm researching how large of an Anvil case I'm allowed to bring on-board, and then will calculate how many bottles will fit aforementioned case (although I suspect this will be a rum-fueled excursion) . . . .

Location: closely held secret | Cruises are generally 'all inclusive', meaning a cabin and all the food you can eat. and eat. and eat. Be prepared to go home at least 10 pounds heavier.
Alcohol is everywhere, and they charge big for it. Most cruise lines don't allow cash anywhere except the casino, so the little plastic card they give you gets quite a workout. It's easy to spend more than you think you are.
Also, most lines don't allow you to bring your own alcohol on board, except for that which you bring home duty free, and they take that and hold it for you until you reach home port.
Somebody better bring me back some cigars! :D |

Oh well. Have fun! |

Maybe it would be easier if we wagered on exactly how many times Cliff goes over instead? |

As much as I'd LOVE for them t'stop by, I don't think that the ship has a shallow enough draft to make it into that bay in the back of your house.
Funny thing. I'm gonna be accompanying Jeanette to her company's Annual Sales Meeting in Dec. down there in Flah.
One of the functions'll be a "Jimmy Buffett-style" Party, and I may be slated to provide the entertainment . . .
One of the venues that they were considering was the Ritz-Carlton there on the Island (where we saw the CarShow, yes??). THAT woulda' been a GoodBigFUN!! I think for logistics/economics, they opted for some place in Naples instead (bastards!).
As much as I'd hate to admit it, this weekend I was watching TV and was kinda' half-hoping that Wilma woulda' "taken out" the other resort, and things'd go back to Amelia . . .
As far as your little "pool" goes, . . . .
"Funny".
(like a turd in a punch bowl).
(Should I be worried that Jeanette has me registered under a different name? Who IS "Klinghoffer", anyway?? . . . .) |
