Help me understand Vipers/T5

I've looked at Ovation Vipers (the new ones) as well as the new Taylor T5's. Both very nice, but I am at a loss to explain their prices. They seem astronomical for what you get. Can someone help me understand what I am missing? Cheers! AND the body is made of mahogany a fact that ovation does not seem to really want to stress by painting the bowl black with bowl paint.
