| I was going through a few of Stephent28's gallery photo's. Nice stuff (few nice Adamas's for sale there as well)
Question ;
I have been looking at the MM68 Mandolin but I am curious as to the difference between the Two instruments in my thread title?
I am also curious about the sound comparison between the traditional mando's and the MM68?
I might me wrong but the Mandocello looks like a slightly bigger body?

The MM68 is sized the same as a mandolin while the Mandocello is the size of a guitar.
The mandolin is tradionally tuned like a violin while the mandocello is tradionally tuned like a cello. Both have many alternate tunings but the most common change for the mandocello would be to tune it like an irish bouzouki.
I prefer the sound of my Davy Stuart mando over the MM68 but the MM68 can be plugged in and heard over the noise of a band. |

| Interesting........... Nice instruments man. Guess I need the electronics as well so it wil finally be the MM68 for me as well. I was looking at the natural color "O" Mandolin on the bay. Did Ovation ever make any MM68's in any other color than red or natural? To be honest this one was the first natural one I have seen?

Al had a natural for sale a while back. Don't know if he ever sold it or not.
I have also been toying with the idea of selling my cherryburst, if you don't score the natural from eBay. |

| Well Keep me in mind when the time comes, That Mandolin is nice. Checked Al's site a few days ago did not see any Ovation Mando's for sale in there.
No rush on your's.... I just bought two Ovation Guitars from our group and have to get a couple of straps, schaller locks, string swing hangers so I am done for a little while now. So if your not in a hurry give me a heads up before you list it.
