Location: south east Michigan | The variations we saw at the tour were slothead or regular headstock....12 or 14 fret to the body...inlaid leafy soundhole or the plain one that Waskel is holding.
I guess we will find out in January. I bet it will come with some suped-up electronics.

Koa top, 12 fret, abalone inlay with MOB-like soundholes, OP Pro studio and certificate for a large can of Dole Pineapple!
Rick, can you hear me now? |

Inlay, SchmInlay . . . a one-piece epaulet is ghastly! . . . |

Location: Upper Left USA | the monotone/one piece epaulet worked on the 2003 Collector because it was darker and the Walnut tones were fairly subdued.
a solid Padauk on Koa would work. |

But I'm wondering : which kind of sound does Koa's top give ? |

Especially considering the company they were keeping... |

| IMHO koa looks waaaaaaaaay better than it sounds as far as guitars go. |

When available, are you taking pre-orders, expected availability, etc., etc. |

Location: NJ | I have no clue on what they are choosing for the 05 collectors I am assuming it will be the prototype that slipkid is pictured with at the open house.
I am rather sure it will have epaulets and will be koa after that I am not sure.
As for pre order sure just e mail me but realize I have no price for the instrument yet.
more info as I get it. |

Saw it on the rack, was really amazed by the wood and just couldn't help but pick it up and play a bit. Was really hoping for a sound that I couldn't possibly live without and, like I said earlier, it was just not there. My loss, no question :( . |

I've never played an ovation koa, but I would imagine it's a very rich sound, in that ovations (and adamas are very articulate) and then overlaid with the koa, well that's just guitar porn! Nice. I'm afraid though, unless I win the lottery, I'll be living vicariously thru you guys. Let me know how it sounds. I'll be jealous. I hope it has an eppaulette like Kaki Kings guitar, and just one target diamond at the the 12th fret. Man that would be sweet. |
