| Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here. I have had this guitar for about 5 years now and I have never seen another one like it. According to the sticker in the soundhole, it is a Celebrity CC148, but I have never seen any other CC148 that looks like this! PLEASE, if anyone has any info on the origin of this guitar, let me hear it! |

| I researched the serial number on it once; I believe it was made in 96 or 97. Can you tell me why this is different than other CC148's? (All the rest that I have seen have chrome hardware, and don't have the little inlaid triangles like this one. Actually, if im not mistaken the ones I've seen have the multi-soundhole rather than the single hole.) Maybe I am tripping. Any idea how much my guitar retailed for when it was new? |

I remember seeing these 5-10 years ago and thought that they were nice guitars. |

Location: Isle of Man, UK | Interesting, Mr Woody - my first O is a Celebrity Deluxe (so that's a multi-soundhole, dots and diamonds inlays...), but it does have gold tuners. I thought all Celebs had, to be honest, but I'm happy to be corrected to Deluxes and special ones.
Tough as nails indeed - she'll be nine years old in January, and I've put her through a lot of hard work. Still plays wonderfully, and the only things to have given slightly are the strap pin near the neck, and the first frets on the Top E and B strings. This Celeb wasn't only my introduction to Ovation at a nice price (leading to a whole family that have cost more than my car over the years), but has earned her keep more than any of them, and continues to - we've played together over 12 hours this weekend, as one example... eek!
Celebs do take a little bashing, I agree. I have a USA Elite 12 string, and there really is no comparison between the two, but they are a great guitar for slightly more than entry-level.
This one sure is pretty, although the triangle inlays are a little misleading... Some sort of special edition maybe? Have a look at the headstock - it's got some Elite-style striping at top-centre, which neither of my celebs have. Any thoughts from people who have more experience that I do regarding a new/custom neck at some stage?

| Hey thanks for the help guys. I am fascinated with this guitar because of its beauty and playability. It does in fact have a 5-piece neck like you stated. So it is possibly a 30th anniversary model? I assumed there was something special about it, just never knew... |
