I have memorized the Ovation models with the wide, (1 7/8) necks, but I am now looking for an Adamas equivalent of the so-called "Josh White" Ovations.
I cant figure out the Adamas system (if there is one)when I do see them , such as this one mentioned in a recent post to this site.

Thanks for your help |

Location: Corvallis, OR | Thnaks for input, but I "Googled" the number U681t, and came up with this site,
http://www.adamasguitars.com/?fa=30th_anni
which says that the nut width is not 1 7/8

Location: Phoenix AZ | You need to take these nut widths with a grain of salt (salted nuts?). Ooooh that was a bad one.
What I mean is that the nut width alone is not sufficient info. I've got a 1-7/8 Ovation that feels narrower than a 1-3/4. And a 1-13/16 Martin that feels smaller than the 1-3/4 Ovation. Nut width is just one part of the equation. The neck thickness (depth) and shape is also important to know. Last but not least is how the string spacing is cut on the nut. If a 1-3/4 nut and a 1-7/8 nut are both cut to the same spacing (usually 1-1/2) they will feel oddly similar, yet different. Just some additional fodder for the fire.
Personally, the best neck I have ever played is the 1-3/4 FD14. Something about the profile feels a little flatter than the U681. The older style 1-7/8 folklore neck is also very nice.

I also have noticed the same thing about the feel of the necks on the U681T and the FD14. |
