Location: Atlanta, GA. | Spent the last four days down on the coast visiting my sisters in Biloxi and touring the devastation left from Katrina. Very depressing, but they'll make a comeback.
Then drove down to Gulf Shores, AL. just knocking around. Ended up at the Flora-Bama in Perdido Key, FL. and Orange Beach, AL. (it straddles the state line) Saturday afternoon. I hadn't been there in over 30 years, but it still sits there surrounded by high rise condos and such. They still host the annual Interstate Mullet Toss .
Hurricane Ivan did a lot of damage to it in '04 but, with some repairs and some huge tarpaulins for a portion of the roof, cold beer, great entertainment and good times are still being had.
I ended up having to get a motel room and stayed the night.
Needless to say, A GOOD TIME was had by all! |
