For the past 35 years, my brother has been a music director for a few churches. This past April his current church marked his 20 anniversary with a program of him performing a variety of his original works. When we got together in NC over the holidays all the sibs got a CD of the program. While I like Bach's Toccatta and Fuge in D minor as much as the next guy, I never knew he had stuff like Ad Gloriam in him. Caveat, this is a 4.5 MB file so it may take a while to load. Played on a standard computer sound system it's just organ music with clicks, but if you've got a sound setup with a sub-woofer, it's pretty good.

In his liner notes he says that this was his first attempt to write something for synthesizer and organ. The synth is used to create the drum line for the click track. The rest is him and a 4 manual pipe organ. I grew up with this guy and he can still surprise me.

Note: He's submitted this piece for publication so I don't know how long I can keep this link available. Just wanted to share it with my OFC friends. There's a bunch of fellow praise musicians here and, who knows, maybe a couple of others that might like a good drum line now and then.

Parts of this great piece remind me of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I could imagine some great bass guitar and lead guitar riffs going on. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks go to dvd, he's graciously hosting the link for me.

Lanaki,
I found the crescendo at the 3:21 mark very reminiscent of EL&P's "The Great Gate of Kiev" from their version of Mossorgsky's "Picture's at an Exhibition".

Other parts remind me of my earlier days in Marching Bands :D
