1858 history (Elite 12 string)

mikep Posted 2007-01-05 12:31 PM (#121792) Subject: 1858 history (Elite 12 string) Joined: January 2007 Posts: 1 Location: Clio, Michigan Does anyone know anything about the history of Elite series, model 1858. I have one, serial # dates it to 1988. I cannot find any info on this model that far back. All black including back of neck and the headstock, gold machine heads. I bought it new, told the salesperson what I wanted and he ordered it for me. Appreciate any help. There's a lot of history here. For starters, the first multi-holes were Adamas carbon tops and the first wood top multi-hole was the 1537. after that the Elites became a line of their own with several flavors.
