Location: South of most, North of few | I used to use this stuf on my Cobra for fine scratches, and later on my 1115 for the same. I just did the whole 1614 (top and neck) with it, and WOW, it has such a gloss, and looks like new. It is made by Meguiar and it's called "Scratch X". It is available at most auto parts stores, comes in a black tube, and is safe for any type clearcoat finish. It is a very very fine, what they call "diminishing abrasive" that really makes the finish on my two woodtops come alive. nice gloss and very smooth. |

Location: big island | great. brad should like this for his two "wood tops" also.
i wonder if the "diminishing abrasive" would work applied directly to my mid-section? |

Actually, I just got the D-1 as a belated Christmas gift from my wife and brother. The D-1 is considered by many to be the "poor man's D-18," as it's made up of the same basic tone woods and cosmetic appointments. With the satin finish buffed out it looks and feels even more like a D-18. |

I've used it on my guitars exactly once, after I got them, to remove as much of the whirls as possible. Oh yeah, and then I use it again when I sell them. |

Location: Utah | I agree with an4340. Scratch X has abrasives so continual use will abrade the finish away.
After you use the Scratch X to remove the swirls etc. try some S100. It's a german made carnuba wax with no silicones or abrasives. Harely Davidson shops carry it. The best carnuba I've used. |

I've got a scale model of a SaturnV rocket that I put together when I was a kid, and use the Meguiar's to keep the silver paint shiny and t'keep it from dulling/fading. |
