After trying to buy almost every guitar I own (with offers I would expect from JeffW), we finally called it a night. :(
Dano, it was great fun. You pick a mean guitar but when you come back, make your offers with American Dollars and not those lame Canadian ones! ;) |

| Not very nice to call our dollars lame, they are far more colourful and if you notice the USD is going to coloured bills too. Long live the Canadian dollar. .84.24 US and holding. ;-) |

As ours is partially a 'petro-dollar' and heavily influenced by the export of raw and home processed goods, it is fairly stable in and of itself. (Actually considered under-valued) It's the instability of the American dollar that effects the fluctuation...

Y'notice JeffWs typical American 'reinvention of history' a few pages back? It's the sort of wishful thinking that turns ignorant failures like Custer into national heroes.....And British Empire Loyalists like Benedict Arnold into traitors. Kind of explains a lot of their modern history too.

[/QB] [Warning-Political crap] Every time the price of a barrel of oil goes up, I tell my friends that the oil didn't go up... It still cost the same in Euros!
There was movement to move the price of oil from USD to Euros, and the US freaked-out. The US Dollar is worth nothing. I explain to my younger friends that I made more REAL money in '79 when I worked for $2.65/hr than I do now at $10/hr. In '79, one hours labor, I could buy a six-pack, a pack of smokes, and still have a buck left over.
'Nuff Said! |

And I guess I'm not as OLD as some of you, I just had to go read about Vimy Ridge. Didn't know it happened in WWI. So Jeff, what was your rank then?
and yes, I think you're funny. But then, I have a pretty psycho sense of humour...so don't trust my judgement. That Canadian Guy my hero and inspiration. |

When my wife and I were in Vegas a cab driver asked us,"What part of Canada y'all from?" which totally blew her away that we have a definite accent. That and when people found out we were from Canada, asking us if we new Sue Smith in Toronto, or Jim McLeod in Vancouver... |

F'rinstance, Albertans are basically Texan-popsicles. Lovely folks but they still have a thing called 'the nonsmoking section' which is one table with no ashtray. (Legendary Canadian humourist Dave Broadfoot says, "It's like having a nonpeeing section in the pool!")
The only reason someone would live in Toronto is because they can't 'make it' in New York. (IMNSHO)
And out here in British California well,...that about says it all!
The only groups we have that are unique to Canada are the Quebecois (no comment), those wonderful weird Newfies, and a famous subcult made famous by Don Harron that reputedly lives around Parry Sound Ontario. |
