Way back in December of 2004, I made my first OFC post looking for a Breadwinner or Deacon.

No luck there but I did buy a 1537 from Jeff W, a Country Artist from Serge, a GC 12 string from another OFC member and a #47 Reissue from Al.

Well today I finally got
my Breadwinner!!

So I have fulfilled my initial purpose for coming here - did someone say - "When you can snatch the Breadwinner from the Bay it will be time for you to leave?"

But if I go, who will I show pictures of my Ovations to??!! Where else am I gonna find such a cool calendar? Where will I purchase string tubes???

Oh crap, I better stick around. I'll give everybody an update when the BW arrives.

Nice grab.
I sure would not let mine go for that amount.
Looks like she's in fine shape.

It's kind of funny, I alomst hit the BIN of $600 a couple of days ago when I first saw it, but somebody made a bid and the BIN disappeared. I ended up getting it for less than the BIN anyway.

I hope it's as good as it looks, the pictures look like there's a discolored area next to the bridge - so I'm not sure what's up with that.

I have not played a BW since the 70's, but I've wanted one for years - I'm excited.

Now I think I want one of those tiny low watt tube amps. Anybody got any suggestions?

Congrats Designzilla. I was the one who put in the first bid. It was painful to see it go so cheap and not be able to bid higher, but I'm glad somebody here got it.

I was surprised, but happy, it went so cheap. I had been watchin the auction closely, but I might not have bid on it if my wife hadn't called me at work and asked me if I wanted her to bid on the Breadwinner!

Nothing like getting permission and encouragement 15 minutes before the auction ends.

Good going. You'll love the feel of this guitar. What may surprise you is how perfect it feels to play sitting down.

Muzza, I don't know that the Viper is all that cheap. Looks about right. Funny thing is, two years ago when I started looking, that one would have gone for $250.

The thing that originally attracted me to the Breadwinners and the Deacons were the feel of the neck. But of course, I haven't played one about 30 years so I'm excited to see if it feels and sounds as good as I remember.

Couple of random thoughts (new?).

Without DZ where would the Calendar be?

DZ should have his own month featuring none other than...

Oh, crap! It's February, time to turn the page. Oooooooooh!
