Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Anybody have any recommendations from which manufacturer to order a custom ATA case? I am considering having one built for the Trace TA100R. It might come in handy in May. |

New york case company is same as hybrid cases. When I bought my keyboard case they were very helpfull. That said, the guitar case will weigh a about 15 LBS.
When I've flown with my full size ovation, in a plain plastic Martin case, very similar to the ovation case, I was able to bring it on the plane. I flew jet blue. Flying around asia, I've always been able to at least gate check the guitar. Never had a problem. The problem with the ATA case is that they are bastards to lug around. If you a do search here, I think Paul Templeton gave some good advice. |

If y'want, I've got a small Fender 100w powered monitor that can be used in a pinch. It's not a Trace, but it's an amp and can be stashed behind my driver's seat.
Yer welcome to it, if y'want . . . |

Location: NJ | IMHO if you get a road case get one with wheels. many companies do this now and they are way convenient.
gatorc cases
anvil
calzone (althought in neighborhood that's dinner)
tons of smaller companies with good reputations |

Location: NJ | I see TONS (literally) of road cases go through our warehouse every week going to/from shows. The Jan-Al cases really DO seem to hold up against the hairy & unwashed f@ckwits who have skewered MANY a roadcase with a forklift blade . . . .
I agree w/UncleAl on the "wheelie"-things. Especially for air travel. |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | My keyboard with case weighs 50 lbs, so I put wheels on it. Basically, if it weighs more than 20 lbs I put wheels on it. You can get them home depot, just regular dolly casters. If you are going to fly alot, then get the recessed wheel kind, but you're going to have pay extra for them. |
