Location: New South Wales, Australia | G'day all. Just finished putting new strings on my 1860. Is there a sweeter sound in the world than new strings? I have a ritual with new strings where once everything is in tune and I'm ready to go I always play Neil Young's Powderfinger before anything else. Is there anyone else out there who always plays the same thing when the new strings go on...or am I just a bit weird? |

Ok, I like to hear the open chord progressions in the Key of E.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I was just kidding. Maybe because it took me so long to learn it, I almost always start playing a few bars from Classical gas with almost any guitar I pick up.
New York's Not My Home is another that I play, just to run up the frets, but it doesn't hit the high E string until the chorus, so it's not a good test of strings. To test, I usually barre a couple chords up at about the 12th fret, just to see how it sounds and do the intro or chorus to Time in a Bottle to see if I get fret buzz at the upper frets. |

One of Neil's best. Very true Wabbit. And now that I have that song stuck in my mind...
What IS the name of that song, so I can get it in my music collection, and get chords/tab? |

Chek Akins recorded it and called it "A Mouse In The House" 'cause the "suits" at CBS/Sony were afraid of the word "Tits." |
