Looks pretty filmsy so it's probably an "Archcraft" which was a cheap compressed cardboard case offered in 70's Ovation catalogs as an alternative to the tan fibreglass cases. The early guitars came with Gieb or Lifton plywood cases which were good quality traditional hardshells. This definately isn't one of those but it may well be an Archcraft, in which case it is an original Ovation case, of sorts.

It may be the one that he originally got with the guitar, hence "original case!"
I got one of them with my $31 guitar. And he claimed it was a $70 case.
Yeah, right...

The first Ovation I ever owned (a 1970 Standard Balladeer bought in '71) came with a case exactly like that one, so I tend to agree with Paul Templeman's assesment.

I love the old foil labels. They look so much classier than the paper ones.
Oh geez...please don't get me started on that again. But I agree 100%!
The foil labels can't cost that much more. At least use them on the high end models.
But like I said... don't get me started.
