Play golf in the morning, come home and watch the Nextel race and switch over to the golf tournament. After that it's time for dinner and bed. |

Location: Tennessee | Here's to 40 weeks of normal! Should be a very interesting season in most series this year. Racing season for me started three weeks ago at Daytona with the 24 hours.
Lucky for me, my local Nextel race requires both left AND right hand turns, and he who pits before the yellow usually wins. |

BUT....what about the growing number of Saturday night Nextel Cup races???? Boy, does that put a crimp into Sundays!!!! Makes it easier on the remote thumb when F1, Champ Car, ALMS, and IRL are on the tube. |

Location: Omaha, NE | I'm a motorcycle racing fan* more than NASCAR fan, but I have to admit that watching a guy finish the race, on fire, on his roof...then neatly flip back onto his wheels, and calmly (if somewhat urgently) climb out of his still flaming car...and then remove his gloves and casually toss them back onto the driver's seat...well that was one cool scene.
* Valentino Rossi's racing in recent years has been simply spectacular. |

Location: Omaha, NE | Agreed. I admire excellence in any form. If you took Jack Nicklaus and merged his talent with that of Tiger Woods, the result would be to golf about half of what Rossi is to motorcycle racing. He is a remarkably talented racer.
Remember that moment when Michael Jordan was head gaming his opponent, and looked away and closed his eyes before draining a perfect free-throw? That's what Rossi is like all the time. |
