Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado | Well.. I got the steal deal on these E2s and I'm sure they are better
than the Koss I have now. The only thing I can't figure out is how to
change the sleeves. The set that came on it has a fairly large hole in
the center while the replacements have somewhat smaller holes in them.
The foam sleeves have a small pipe in their center that seems too
small to fit over the ear bud stalk.
Any suggestions??

The sleeves would be a very tight fit, but once they're on, they're on. I've gt E2 and E3 and find them fantastic.
I've also found the best fit and most comfy stuff is the triple flange sleeves. (I know that these don't say e2 but they will work!)
like these
If you cut the stalk down, as it's quite long, it fits the ear better. They are also a very tight fit onto the 'phones themselves, but definitely do the job.
Hope it helps.

Location: Lebanon, TN | I am on my third set of E's. First set (E3) developed a drop out and were replaced under warranty after 9 months no messin'. I then left them on a plane with my iPod (Doh!). Bizarely got the iPod back but not the headphones.
Now have E4's. Persevere with the fit of the units to sleeve's. Believe me there is a reason that they need to be on tight. On my E3's I had one that the grey sleeve would slide off leaving it in my ear canal. Scared the crap out of me first time until I developed a technique to squeeze it and it popped right out.
I found that that large grey soft sleeve worked best for me. There is a reason they supply so many options. People's ears are very different shapes and it is to their credit that they offer so many options. Check their website for more and replacements.
You do need an effective seal to get these guys to work or the bass dropp off and noise leakage is extreme. Once they fit though, the sound is sublime and sound isolation excellent. I travelled Philadelphia to LA with a crying kid 2 rows back and it never bothered me once apart from the tired fractious looks on the faces of the folks around me :-) |

I gave up wearing mine over the ears and just wear them more conventionally. This works well, but you need to wear the right one in the left ear and the left one in the right ear.
A great phone for reminding one of the importance of keeping Q-tips around - and using them :( |

Suggestions? |

To answer my own question, my E2s were packaged with the wrong sleeves as determined by Shure so that's why I was having trouble with them.
Woody, there are lots of these things on the market because of I pods and such. These E2s were purchased off the net at a better price than I could find locally. Since it's an item that you can't really "field test", I went with what other folks told me. The E2s are the cheapest in the Shure line and I've heard great things about the E3s,4s,and 5s, but wanted to start out not blowing too much money.
