Location: Kaaawa, Hawaii | Just about one year ago, I started loooking for an Adamas I 12 string. After several searches and a few dissappointments, I happened on to a French website that featured nothing but Adamas guitars, old and new. They had an excellent photo gallery and low and behold, there was a 1994 Adamas 1688-8 for sale at $2500.00. After several attempts to contact the owner, I had all but assumed that it was already sold. I had not been on the Ovation guitar site in a while , so I decided to check it out. While there, I linked to the Adamas homepage and discovered that they were offering a 30th Anniversary model of the 1687-8. I emailed the factory to ask if they will be offering a 12 string, they answered that it a available as custom order. I think I had set a land speed record on my way to the local dealer here in Hawaii and placed my order on July 31, 2006. They told me that it take about 7 to 8 months for delivery. But, right after Thanksgiving I recieved a phone call from them saying that they were closing the store and that they put my guitar on rush order. I had broken my previous speed record when they called me three weeks later that my guitar was in. It was one of the best Christmas presents ever. So, $2800.00 later (lifetime warranty and all) I opened the case and there was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen. The head and bridge carvings were outstanding, the fit and finish was perfect and the sound, action, and playability was as I had imagined. If there was anyone out there that had also ordered this guitar the same time that I ordered mine, I hope that you were not to angry that I got my instrument, I think, in record time. Four months, seven months, eight months, I am sure it was worth the wait.

Location: Athens, GA & Gnashville | Congrats on having a GREAT guitar. I had one of those back in the 80's. I'm still kicking myself for ever selling it. The sound on Adamas 12-strings literally shimmers.

Location: SoCal | Those are terrific guitars. I've owned one for about 11 years and will never sell it.
I just had my 69 GC 12 string rebuilt (whole new body). Between the 2 guitars there is a totally different sound. The old one is like a totally restored 65 Mustang, the Adamas is like a brand new Mustang GT. Both are wonderful to play.
