Just tried to upload some photos in the member access area and got the following message...

"Active Server Pages error 'ASP0113'
Script timed out
/gallery/up.asp
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools."

I'm new at this sort of stuff and haven't got a clue what this means. Can anyone enlighten me?

First: there is a file size limit while posting to the Gallery. I think it is 100kb, but it is stated in there somewhere.

If the file is small enough -- all that gobbledy gook is computer geek for try again.

OK...now for my next question -- how do I make my pictures smaller? The ones I wanted to upload are 470kb, whatever the hell that means. I think I preferred it when they were measured in inches (or centimetres for all of us south of the equator) and my local Kodak shop did all the work. :)

Oz, if you open them in Paint (assuming you're using Window$) you can resize them using Image->Stretch/Skew.
Or (assuming Window$ again) you can download Image Resizer from Microsoft Power Toys (free). This you can run from an Explorer right-click on the image file.

Now why didn't I think of that. Thanks Wabbit I'll give it a go. Failing that I'll wait until the kids get home from school and I'm sure they'll be able to advise me. I'm a bit of a technophobe.

Well Wabbit...I was afraid this was going to be way too technical for me. I used paint (stretch/skew) and now my picture is tiny but even though the dimensions have changed, the file size is still 470kb. Kids have come home from school and gone straight out again leaving me to fume over the keyboard. Think I'll go and play guitar

G'day Wabbit...where there's a will there's a way. I emailed the photos to myself which automatically reduced the file size and now I'm gonna try and upload them. Thanks for your suggestions. Think I'll have a look at image resizer anyway.

"uluru" must be an aboriginal name?
