I have been really rying to perfect my fingerpicking. I have been watching lessons and tutorials on YouTube, I stumbled across this video on YouTube of Paul McCartney playing 'Blackbird'.
About 1/2 way thru the song, I noticed the headstock. Kinda looks like signature ovation headstock. I then went back to the beginning and noticed when he plugs in, the back appears to be 'O' as well.
Am I seeing things, or does one of the Fab 4 play an 'O'???

Location: SoCal | There's a pic in the Ovation book of McCartney playing this guitar, possibly taken from this concert (same clothes -- I remember the scarf as it was so 70's). |

Location: Paris/France | This video come from "Wings over America tour" from 1976 and Paul is playing a nice Custom Legend.
It's a great show and sometimes when I ask me why I love so much O's guitars, I remember that concert and I've got a reply!!!
I've got a very rare bootleg LP (near to be unique, only 100 made) of the same concert recorded in France in 1976 at "Pantin" (a city near Paris).
It was a gift from one of my friend for one of my birthday long time ago...

Location: Kent, England | Oh yeah, I remember the tour well, as after he finished the "Wings over America" tour he then played the same set for a few nights at Wembley, London. It was the first time I heard an Ovation played and have been a fan ever since. There was a triple album released shortly afterwards called "Wings over America" in which the centrefold are drawings of the band with Paul playing the custom legend and Denny Laine his fab double neck (can't remember the make...I think possibly ibanez). Great show and great album...must try and get it on cd if it's still available.
Cheers |

| I was thinking Denny's double neck was a Gibson, hence the line from Venus and Mars/Rockshow..."What's that man movin' 'cross the stage---It looks a lot like the one used by Jimmy Page..."

What about this one? The whole band seems to play Ovations :-) |

....the classic Ovation sound |
