I guess this is 1/2 on topic, 1/2 off.

Inspired by another topic, where do you get your news.

Please post links to your favorite MUSIC NEWS site, and also your favorite regular NEWS SOURCE and/or WORLD NEWS source online.

Here's some of mine.
- For music, I still work pretty hard to find "news" in amongst all the gossip. Don't really have one good source or even a group of them.

- For news, local and world, I scan the Drudge report. I don't take any source as gospel, but if there is a headline of interest, I can always go check it out elsewhere.

- If a serious event is happening such as a disaster, I find NPR at least hits headlines. I don't rely on the content, but they provide the "topics" to look elsewhere for the story.

- I do subscribe to CNN headlines via email. What they report is good, I just wish they reported more.

- For weather, I use WeatherBug.com, I find it far more accurate than weather.com.

i stay as far away as i can from any MSM (mainstream corporately owned media) and rely more on the independent news sources. over the last several years, i have perused www.whatreallyhappened.com for the nitty gritty. i ignore the sponsored ads but find much value in the content.

i like weatherunderground ( www.wunderground.com ) for weather. it is difficult for a weather reporting agency to do so with an "agenda".

for music news, i rely on www.ovationfanclub.com

For NEWS, anything but the "bought-and-paid-for mainstream-media".

Unless you lock yourself in a room with no tv/radio/internet, it's impossible to avoid the news. I just take it as it comes and if it looks interesting, I'll dig as deep as I can to find out as much as I can... google the topic and look at all views.

I see news on the Yahoo home page, and as I go by CNN/Fox/MSNBC on CTV, but take it all with a grain of salt. You have to keep in mind the bias (and it ALWAYS is there).

That, and the fact that they spend endless hours on unimportant drivel, like the death of Anna Nicole Smith (sad, but hardly national news).
