Location: New Ulm, MN | I have a 1868-C with an OP24 and when I try to go wireless, I get intermittent squeals and pops. I don't have any problems when using a guitar cord. And I don't encounter any problems going wireless with my other O's, but they all have something other than an OP24. Any ideas out there of what the problem is?

Location: NJ | My partner Rick plays with a wireless (I'm STILL trying t'figure out "WHY"), and "pops" are usually an indication of a low battery in the transmitter, or something blocking/interfering with the wireless signal.
I would make sure that you use a fresh battery each time, and that the receiver is in a prominent location to ensure a good signal . . . |

The squeals are something else; maybe static electricity? Tried playing on a rubber mat or other locations? Let us know when you find out.
Sheilding can be done with aluminum foil. |

Location: New Ulm, MN | I'm thinking that because I have no problems when playing my other guitars, that the source of the problem is somewhere in this particular guitar. Rick, explain how I might do the shielding thing.

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Are any other wireless devices being used in the area? We use a lot of wireless equipment, and occasionally someone will show up with something new that has a conflicting frequency/signal. That happened at a benefit concert I went to last month. We were not informed of what kind of equipment they had on hand with their sound system, and I brought my wireless unit. When I plugged in there was a nasty squeal and I then noticed they were using all wireless mics. Of course my wireless unit was conflicting with another one, so I just used a cord and direct box which fixed the problem. |
