Only holds one Ovation in its case. |

That way, kids know you can smoke 'em before the light changes. In the '70s, the sleeper was a Dart with a 383 Wedge, or a Coronet with a 440 6-pack, whitewalls, no badges and a plain jane paint job. That learned 'em good! My offer for the '94 Tempo still stands. :D |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I had my mid life crisis. In 2001 I got a brand new M5 with no badges on it at all. It looked just like a regular dumpy sedan. Well, except for the tires fatter than Moody's ass, and 4 pipes poking out the back. From 0-60 it was fun. But the second 60 was REAL fun. Traded it in on an SUV and then found the OFC and started spending money on ovations and martins. That's life. Oddly, I have no desire any more for a high performance car. Today I actually drive a station wagon. By CHOICE!

I did this very thing for a customer who got one of the first CL55's that MB in Laguna Niguel delivered (after we put a killer stereo in utilizing the stock Becker head, & adding amps and signal processing using the the factory D2B fibre optik data buss).
This car was SCARY FAST, but looked no different (at first glance) than a CLS430... Only the exhaust tips and HUGE rear tyres gave it away. I'm pretty sure he was going after Vette's and Stangs for money as no rice-burner could touch it.
Do you guys like my "euro-type" spelling? :p :D :p :D |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Once I realized that the average motorcycle these days (including all of mine) can dust just about every four-wheeled vehicle on the road these days, I, too, stopped chasing after high performance. We fondly reminisce about the speed and power of the muscle cars from the 60's and very early 70's. However, when we check the real performance numbers, we find that today's only slightly tuned cars from Japan would pretty much walk away from most (but not all) of our beloved Camaros, Super Sports, Road Runners, Mustangs, 4-4-2s, GTOs and Vettes. In 1968, my slightly modified 1957 Ford turned 15.12 in the quarter mile and we all thought that was pretty good. Today's Corolla with a $300 chip upgrade would eat it for lunch, and the kids are absolute whizzes at understanding automotive technology. All the old rules about cubic inches have changed. Its all about valves, airflow and timing these days. I think I'll just stick to guitars. |

good amplifiers have valves, good acoustic guitars and voices have airflow and timing is everything in music... |

Location: Tennessee | CL55 Renntech. Talk about scary fast! That thing's got a top end of 300km/h. (I can talk euro too, Fred :) ).
"Back in the day", I had a killer muscle car ... 1968 Camaro SS396. My current ride (C4S) does 0-60 nearly 2 seconds faster and the 1/4 mile about 3 seconds faster. With just over 50% of the dispacement.
IF you want to run with the kids these days, just make sure you're running farther than their nitrous capability. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Professor is sorta right. It's all power to weight ratios. That's why most motorcycles will blow the doors off a muscle car.
The kids with the rice rockets aren't that smart. They still spend a few thou on a stereo, a wing and a fart muffler and there cars aren't any faster. They'll buy a chip that will raise the redline to a point that the blow the engine.
On the other hand, someone told me today that a recent test of a Lexus and Infinity pointed out that the 0-60 times were within a tenth of a Lambo Countach. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I pulled the AMG off of mine but kept the M and moved it to the other side. Now in the back it reads CL55M. They all want to know what model that is and I tell them it's the Mutha or mega or monster depending on circumstances. At 530 horses it is kind of a monster.
I'd second what Tuppy said, it's the 60-120 where it gets real fun. All that said it's an 04 and has 26,000 and the 07 Suburban I got in May has 20,000. That is a pretty good indication where I'm at these days. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Hardly. You can fit 35 guitars in the Suburban, easily.
It shuts down at 97 so you can't go too fast. |
