I'm in a little coastal village, population 3000, and an 87 year old woman was bashed here a few weeks ago after a 16 year old kid broke into her house in broad daylight.
She managed to crack him over the head with an old photo frame and guess what.....now he wants to sue her!!!
She finished up with a broken finger, sprained wrist and numerous cuts and bruises as well as having her purse stolen..all for the tidy sum of $25. |

Don't get me started on this. If there's any reason to revert to the dark ages, it's these @$$H0l3s who make a fortune after suing the people they were trying to rob or kill - and the lawyers who help it happen - and the judges who allow it. I say lock them in a room with the families and friends of the victim for 30 minutes. Justice done. |

It reminds me of a news report I heard about an elderly couple vactioning in South America.
Of course some mugger saw them as an easy target and attacked them. The only thing he didn't count on was the fact that the elderly gentleman was a retired green beret.
Not only did he protect his wife and himself, he ended up killing the mugger.

Probably just separated by a five minute shuttle ride and fencing. I actually had to visit Rikers Island in my third year in college as part of a professional rotation. |

Location: Australia | The problem these days is that people don't understand that the 101 year old lady isn't the real victim, the mugger is and it doesn't really matter that he committed the crime but it's why he committed the crime that's the real question.
....you see he's the real victim in all this. Maybe his mother didn't toilet train him right or kids at school teased him. So it's not his fault really.
