Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Hello OFCers!
I've been absent from the board for awhile...
My annual pickin' and grinnin' get together at Old Magnolia Town near Palestine, TX is next month April 20-22. (we had a large OFC showing at the first one two years ago, photos in last years calendar!) Here's a copy of my e-mail to a bunch of my Kerrville Folk Festival friends, who make up a good portion of the turn-out:
Hello all! You are invited to our
3rd Annual Old Magnolia Town Music Jamboree
Fri-Sun April 20th, 21st and 22nd.
at Old Magnolia Town near Palestine, TX
hosted by David and Deb Hobbs and Paul Wagner
Bring your instruments, chairs and beverages of choice. There are a few rooms available on a first come basis, please contact Deb and David at Old Magnolia Town, otherwise there is space for some RVs and plenty of tents and hotels just a few minutes away in Palestine
www.oldmagnoliatown.com
Kids of all ages are welcome.
The previous years we've had general song circles (a la KFF campground) and Trinity Dogs (the band I'm fortunate to play in) hosts an open-mic on the stage Saturday Night. www.trinitydogs.com
If you can make it let me know so we get an idea of how many to expect and if you need information, directions, etc.
David and Deb (my cousins!) are gracious to allow us to utilize this great spot to do our thing, donations are accepted and appreciated.
Thanks and hope you can make it. Paul
If you're interested shoot me an e-mail.
Thanks!!
Paul :D |

Is "been busy" an excuse?
I've been on the road a lot (with my day job), the band spent the fall in the studio (CD to be in hand soon), yadda-yadda-yadda.... |

Happy b-day to your daughter, Tom, Fred I'll try to get a better notice out next year.
A lot of the Kerrville gang may not be out this year because of a wedding in Austin the weekend after....
So even if we have a small turnout this year, I want to keep the ball rolling.
Thanks, Cliff.
Now on to catching up on the board... |

I see you still haven't converted Alis to Ovation yet. |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Well, long story on the name change. But to make it short KOAP started with two other members, both who moved to other states, carried on the KOAP title (at first not that big of a deal) and then one went on to trademark the name, etc., etc.
So we figured instead of all the work to prove we should have been sole owners due to us having played as KOAP continually for 4 years, just come up with new name and let the old one go.
We feel like the new name better reflects what our sound has evolved to, and we own it, the web domain, etc......
And no, haven't convinced Alis to go Ovation. Although she reaaly liked the Adamas we have the photo of her playing!!!!
Hey, Noel good to hear from you!

~Just throwing this out there again. A get together to trade songs, admire guitars, etc.
Old Magnolia Town is right outside Palestine in east Texas, a couple of hour drive from Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and close to Louisiana.
It'd be fun to meet any other Ovation enthusiasts in the area...
Thanks

First class props to David and Deb Hobbs who know how to deliver Texas hospitality to its finest.
Old Magnolia Town is very relaxing. Play, rest, sing, eat, drink, walk around the old town, sit on the giant chair in the front yard and bask in the sun. Great way to unwind from the day to day of modern civilization. |
