Location: Snåsa, Norway | Got inspired by something I hear Ted Greene said in a video clip on YouTube about playing with your hands, head or ears. This I think means that "hands" focus on technique, "head" on music theory, and "ears" is the music you make (and hear). Started playing slide just a few days ago and believe I focus more on my ears with the slide than normal playing. I think I've often been to concerned with technical and theoretical problems of the playing to really listen to the music. (or maybe to bad a player to make music at all) Does anyone else have opinions on this matter? |

| I remember Hendrix playing with his teeth...well, actually 'making noise on the guitar' with his teeth.. as they say, 'all music makes noise, but not all noise makes music'.. |

I strongly agree on that, but my point was actually that I realise that I often am to concerned about technique (i.e hands) or even theory (head) when learning to play pieces to really listen to the playing. Maybe I try to play to complicated stuff, or am to bad at playing.
As for the title I tried to edit it, since i realised it will move the thread sideways, but it was to late! |

(but when playing a LongNeck (especially an Adamas), you don't play so much with your heart . . more like your scrote). |

| I'd like to try one of the mid-bowl Longnecks (ds778). I hear they're more comfortable than the deep bowls.. |

But being one who has played for a long time, mostly just as a hobby and by myself, and having only recently begun playing with other people on a regular basis, the ability to listen to what you are playing is one of the most important aspects of creating "music". Opening your ears and letting them control your hands is what makes music flow. |

But that's a little harder, now they've put a night watchman at the cemetary... |

I think he's asking about when you play with yourself. |
