...and would like to lower the action. In the owners manual it says just loosen the bridge and remove the shim from under the bridge. It also warns that the strings may buzz. If they buzz is it just a matter of then adjusting the neck? Thank you.

Regards,

Tom

Welcome Tom.
Loosen the strings, remove 'one' shim and retune. Whether it buzzes or not depends on string guage, fret levels, and straightness of the neck. Trial and error, as it were.

yes... just a matter of a neck adjustment...

with each minor turn on the truss, allow the neck to settle in for a few hours...

Gospel Guitar Guy,

Thanks for the welcome. With respect to Answers; sometimes it's just the thought that counts !!

OK, I have removed the strings from 1858LX and removed the shim and now the action is nearly perfect. Thank you to every one for the encouragement. I'll start another thread to tell you how a came about owning this guitar.

Regards,

Tom
