Unless I am mistaken, he played Ovation guitars, you know, the ones made out of plastic. Ever notice that everyone who plays one sucks? With a VERY exceptions, Cat Stevens being one of them. But that is truly how they sound. Like crap. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I've stated before... Some traveling Hippie-Musician in the 70's brought an Ovation to the circle in the park. I thought it was awesome.
At that time, lots of guitars came through the park, Gibsons, Guilds, Epiphones, Martins... But I always liked that Ovation, with the bowl.
Last year, I saw one in the shop, and my memory just clicked.
"Yeah Bro', I like your Seagull and your old Martin. But I like my Korean Balladeer better (and I can plug-it-in)."
