Over the next two and one half weeks I will be driving from Washington DC to Richmond VA to NYC to Boston Mass.

I haven't driven in America since 1973.

You have been warned.

And I will have SWMBO and 2 fighting kids in the car.

You have been doubly warned.

Be advised that if you need to get away from the fuckwit-lawyer-brother-in-law, I'm a mere trainride of a visit away . . .

(If fact, I'll feel highly insulted if we don't "hoist one" together while you're here)

You've been warned.

I've got a lunch spot in mind... The place I'd really like to go is closed on Sunday, so it's plan "B"...

did schroeder post this thread to get you east coasters off the roads because he is actually concerned for your safety, or because he just wants to make better time driving?

Good God NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I'll be back on my own a month later. It may seem kinda Rockerfellerish to be tripping lightly back and forth over the pond, but it's coincidence and unlikely to be repeated again in my lifetime.

(Be honest - you don't really expect to bring an 11 year old who could blow the socks off anyone at the Tour do you?)

Hey Schroeder!!!
You old tourist you!!!
I don't know how much time your going to spend in DC but here is my 2 cents worth of advise.
Of the 9 or 10 things we did there, 3 of them stood out.
First... the guided tour of the Capital building is very good.
The Viet Nam Memorial is a must.
And the newer FDR Memorial is very interesting.

The Museum of Natural History is nice but come on..... how many species stuffed ducks can you look at. And they do display hundreds of examples.

I think the Air & Space Museum has moved away from the location right on the mall.

Don't bother with the tour of the FBI building.

Lastly... The Hard Rock Cafes are always a let down.

As far a driving... If it feels wrong, your doing it right.

Schroeder,

Just remember - We drive on the passenger side of the road...

...and we moved our passengers to the other side!
