It is at my local UPS Store while I am here in Cubicle Land with an impossible workload.
Anybody feel sorry for me?
Wait, scratch that question - I just remembered who I was talking to... |

I can be there in about 3 hours. I will retrieve it for you, and care for it as if it were my very own.
You can pick it up from my home at your convenience, knowing it has been nurtured and loved.

Helpful hint - I used the services of my local UPS Store this time so that A) the package went straight indoors and was secure, and B) If it arrived with Tire Tracks on the box it would be documentable.
$5 for this service. |

Haiku can take several other forms but the three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables seems to work best. |

Ahem, hence the circumcision...
So I think what Al was alluding but not blazenly broadcasting - as well as what I have been purporting is that you can get an LX D-scale now and have Abalone inlays as well.
Now to start planning the next custom... |

Location: GA USA | Woody, did you sketch out the teardrop for them or specify that it should reach all the way to the neck? Usually they have a lot more black. It's like a whole new breed of burst, a non-Gibsony TDB.
That's beautiful. |

Location: Upper Left USA | Actually I thought it would have more of the Gibson-esque black. I looked at as many examples as I could and settled on Teardrop. I think the depth of burst is dependant on the "artist" with the gun at the time.
I knew that whatever I got would be within certain parameters. It grows on you. I want to see it in a Stage lit environment!
As I turn and look at it now I am seeing more figure in the middle tones than I noticed before. Did I mention it kind of grows on you. |

Location: SoCal | Just an absolutely beautiful guitar. Bet it sounds wonderful as well. I could see the wheels turning in Woodrow's head last year at Stonge's house when he played Stonge's long neck 12 string.
I love the sound of long necks, but it screws with my mind. I can capo up the neck with the best of them, but trying to figure out chords going the other way is almost painful for me. But Woodrow, if you'll send the guitar down to me for say, 6 months, I'll try and figure it out...... |

Pretty cool. The only inlaid epi's i had ever seen were those on Spot. They add a really nice "finished" look to the guitar.

Damn fine.
I downloaded the pics to use as a desk top.
The only thing I would have done different would be to have the 5 piece neck stripes show on the headstock. Leave the face of the headstock black, but show the skunk stripes.
That top looks awesome.
I know you won't be able to make the tour this year. :(
Is there any possible way your guitar can attend?? ;) :D |

Wander thru the Guitar Center near Washington Square one of these days, they actually have quite a few USA O's. Lots of inlaid epaulets and beautiful finishes. No bursts, though, last time I checked. Haven't really seen anyplace else around PDX that has O's. |

By the way, you're right that does look familiar.
The difference between your -TDB and my old -1 is more subtle than I would have expected. Both are very purdy...

Location: south east Michigan | I thought of another feature I would do with a custom made longneck.
Along with the unusual longneck fret markers I'd put dots or "snowflakes" in between them. That way if I'm capoed up to concert pitch I'd have my reference points. I know, I know... if I was a better musician I wouldn't need them. Well... I'm not and I do.
I hope there is a longneck at the tour.
I gotta try on of those things. |

Hey, it was my burst before it was your burst! Jas, I think the distinction is that Woody's burst comes to a point under the neck, just like the VXT. Yours happens much closer to the bridge... which I think is the more traditional TDB pattern.
I'm bummed that I won't get to meet you at the Tour. Some day! |
