| I'm in the process of purchasing an Ovation Anniversary acoustic,(1978) no electronics.It has the Nutmeg Brown finish, and is in mint condition, both the guitar and case. All the original paperwork and accessories are included. I thought the price was right at 475.00, especially for the condition. Just wondered how many here have played or owned one, and some opinions of the guitar. Thanks. |

Location: Athens, GA & Gnashville | I've owned one just like you are looking at: acoustic and nutmeg. The finish on mine was more like a bright red mahogany. It was pretty much like a Custom Legend with different accouterments. Mine had "A" bracing and sounded very good.
For some reason, I sold it years ago. LOL! :confused: |

| Didn't all the Anniversary models have the "A" bracing? I have a Legend and a Custom Legend, early 80's models, and they have the "A" bracing, as well. Seems like I heard somewhere that the Anniversary always had it. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Location: Indiana | I've had mine since it was new in 83. It's actually an 82. It is still one of my favorite guitars. Would never concider seling it.

| How does the VT braced Legends compare to the A braced ones? I have been offered a great deal on a minty Legend, but it has the old style bracing. I haven't played one of those, so I am a little concerned that it won't sound as good as my A braced one. |

I have a '72 VT braced 1127 GC Artist that has been my main recording axe for years. GREAT sounding guitar that has a similar sound spectrum as a lot of fine D-18's I've heard.
Then again, I've had a couple A braced O's that were duds.
I just play them with my eyes closed and "hug it out." LOL! |

I've never liked VT braced guitars, but I've know people who think they are the cat's ass. And they are very very good for recording just because they don't have a strong bottom end.

Location: Burbank | That is so funny to hear someone else use that term. My dad and his friends and family all used it, even used it in spanish! It was a nice blast from the past for me (haven't heard it in a while) as most them are all gone now. |
