Hi,
I'm new member from Finland to this interesting site. For lefthanded person it's hard to find Ovation here in continental Europe. Also you can just imagine to try them by yourself in your nearest music store. When I found Celebrity Lcs247-4 it was in France, so trust your luck and order it. It's sounds very good amplified with OP-30 preamp it's fitted with. Then as many of you have mentioned one can't stop thinking about (US made) models with better acoustic sound (GAS). So after long time websurfing I found lefthanded 1719 (Traditional series with OP-40) in guitarstore (Adirondack) whose owner seems to have great sympathies for lefthanders, too. So,again impossible to try it because of the Atlantic ocean. Now I have had it here for one week.
I'm sure someone can give me opinions of that CL-model which isn't at the topics very often.
Also I would appreciate guidance because the low e-string sounds damp compared with a- and d-strings.

G'day auto97...Finland is a long way from Australia but the beauty of this place is the many different nationalities, their love and enthusiasm for their instruments and their vast knowledge.

So welcome to the OFC....I'm sure someone more intelligent than me will be able to give you the opinions and guidance you've requested.

auto97,

Welcome to the OFC. The 1719 is basically the modern-day version of the original 1619 Custom Legend; and they are considered in many circles to be Ovation's best sounding traditional sound hole guitar. I've owned a few, and I can vouch for their quality. The OP-40 preamp is awesome, too. I currently own the mid-depth cutaway version of your guitar and I love it. Congratulations on your acquisition of a fantastic guitar. You've definitely got a winner there... Enjoy!

As far as the dampend E string, it could just be in need of a new set of strings, or perhaps a slight tweaking of the nut slot for that string. I doubt it's anything major. Good luck, and again, welcome.
