( by sales numbers )
selling guitar is in the world ?
I am not asking for specific certain models like if its a Clapton Model Blackie Strat that means it is a Stratocaster. If it is a Gibson Peter Frampton edition Les Paul it is a Les Paul. Im thinking in this order?
# 1 = Fender Stratocaster
# 2 = Gibson Les Paul
Does anyone know the answer ??? GWB |

If Style... I would say Strat "style", cuz everybody makes 'em, including Wal-mart.
If Brand... I'd think Gibson, and it's subordinates.
[We are talking about solid-body electrics, right?] |

Location: ranson, wva | gwb, im gonna take a stab at this. to me the top 3 bestsellers have to be #1 fender strat body style.#2 fender tele body style,#3 gibson les paul body style. those are probly the 3 most copyed guitars that ive seen. so to me that every one and there brother makes a copy that would make them the best sellers....just my opinion......jason |

but I do like the way the Telecaster plays alot more than the Stratocaster.
Sorry Strat fans.....GWB |

I love teles too...I have a '53, although I haven't played it much in recent years.
These days, it is usually my fugly but original '62 Strat or one of the Bluebirds.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I think the Fender Strat has gotta be number 1, and the Fender Telecaster number 2. But I wouldn't bet money on the Gibson Les Paul being number three in terms of sales. They are too expensive to sell in LARGE numbers. Would only be number three maybe if you included the SG and Epiphone Les Paul sales in that number.

Second -- regarding the quote; let me know how that works out for you. I personally don't think anything could replace my telecaster. I'm pretty sure it will remain the guitar sitting next to the music stand. I never thought i'd say that six months ago. I think the BW Ltd's are sexy cool, but i've played them and i just didn't bond to them like i did with the Telecaster -- not even close. So, i'd be curious to hear your experience when the BW arrives -- keep us posted.
Oh, and my vote goes to the Fender Stratocaster as the number one seller -- just has to be. (You have to include the Squires, MIM's, etc) Take a look at the used market, it's flooded with Strats.
Cheers!

Sweet!
I'm looking into having another one built for me with the wider neck and a bit more heft to the neck myself. Also i'm going to have a '57ish Gibson humbucker put in the neck position.
Keep me posted on that BW comparison when it comes in.
