| Al, You were right. It was a horrible price.
the guitar arrived a few minutes ago.. nicely packed, came with all original paperwork(from Rock n Rhythm Guitars), preamp brochure, original warranty card/owners manual(unregistered), key, service center brochure, pre-sale checklist, hang tags, and a nice minty '97 catalog.
the guitar... well I have to tell you guys...
OMFG!!! It's freakin' beautiful!! and sounds like a choir backed by a symphony orchestra!!!
I get it!!
wasn't planning on having an Adamas this nice till I retired... but I really don't mind.
Thanks guys for pointing me slowly in the right direction.
so what ya think? other than the fact that my lawn needs a new lawn.

After you have tried out a textured top Adamas, it's a whole different ballgame.

| This is one wonderful and inspirationally loud and bright guitar and the bottom end is awesome... I can't wait till I have a deep one.....later.
it's not completely flawless(what is?) there's a scratch on the waist between the preamp and the battery box that scrapes through/over the binding..
a black sharpie or furniture crayon will make it go away for the most part tho.
other than that no other blems.. the strings are fresh, and there's a shim in the accessory hole.. so someone has at least restrung it once... there's like no fret wear and all of the wood surfaces are fresh with no oil/sweat staining...
I really like the natural/oiled neck and it has a slightly rounder/fuller profile than the 2985 had.
still getting used to the tuner timing out on me...
the action is really nice and low..the only 12 I've had that even came close to playing this low without a buzz was my first 1758.. this is better.
comparing this to any of the Ovation 12s I've had is like impossible... definitely a different breed.
I hope I can get the Bluebird/UKXII set up this nicely.
back to marveling and exploring.

then my buddy Al got one of the New Black Elites and I got the Adamas... Textured top or Bowl paint... no more fingerprints or smudges.
Black guitars(at least these 2) are ok with me now.
