Another string question

The heavier strings "power" the guitar more, bringing out better tone. But I can't play mediums; I don't have the strength in my left hand. So I use Earthwood Medium Lights. I've got Elixir poly mediums on my 1537 and Elixir nano lights on my 87C (the 1537 is a very bright sounding guitar, the 87C much less bright). Elixir phos/bronze lights on the 1627 RI, and Elixir poly lights on the GCDB (the 1627 is not a bright guitar and the GCDB is very bright). I'm still experimenting with the FD-14. Right now I've got silk & steel on it.
