Location: Athens, GA & Gnashville | I just got through producing a CD on a new writer/artist from Philly, Brian Connell. I think he is a fine songwriter, and we had some of Atlanta/Athens, GA's best musicians on it.
It is a throwback to Dylan's albums that he cut in Nashville years ago. It should be out in June on my new label, AthenSound. Brian didn't post any of the juicy ballads, but what he did put up for sampling will give you musical clue.
Feedback is appreciated, but it's too late to change anything. :D It is comprised of a lot of first takes and NO vocal auto-tuning (take that Faith Hill!).
It is intentionally a little rough; we call it garage country.
OK, I'll make the first joke: Maybe we should have KEPT it in the garage! LOL!!
I hope you enjoy what you hear.

Location: Upper Left USA | Hey Goob, how about "Woodshed Bands"?
It looks/sounds like a new frontier! I'm not exactly happy with the all the myspace crowd that has to have something to say (or sell), as in the posters, but it sounds like a cool direction in music.
Where was the banjo???

That's an oxymoron.
You should call it "cinderblock country".

MySpace is juvenile...but nonetheless, Brian is using it as a marketing tool.
