It's been over 100 years since the industrial revolution. We've got technology up the wazoo, the computer age. Al Gore even invented the internet. So, am I the ONLY one who finds it ironic that to this day the best tool for cleaning out your ears is STILL the cap off a BIC pen ???

Keys work well, but they have to be the right kind. The key to my Suburban is perfect. The key to my office door is terrible. Generally, older keys are smoother and thus more comfortable.

So, here's the followup question...when you go in and give it a good scrape, are you pleased or disappointed when the key/pen cap comes out clean?

Now then, now then. I need to put a stop to this discussion on safety grounds. As a qualified health professional, I was always taught that putting things in your ears was very dangerous.

'Never put anthing smaller than your elbow into your ear'

No kidding...

Once again, Dave, the Japanese are way ahead of us on this one... something for you to search for next time you are there...

Mimikaki - Japanese ear scrapers.
Go to a parlor and have a Japanese lass scrape out your ears for you

I could tell you about places in china that'll clean your ears and anything else you want ...

And let me add, I've had them clean my ears, and they do an excellent job.

I just tell my girlfriend to pretend each ear is a chicken wing. She will lick and suck 'til they're both clean as a whistle!!

Personally, I enjoy coming out with a big glop of brown goop.
Plus you ear canal has that tingly feeling of clean...
And you can hear better too!

If you come-up empty, you feel empty!

Goob,
I'd be to ashamed to admit my ears could be passed off as chicken wings! :o
BTW - is it difficult to get the sauce outta your hair?

I like to make little sculptures from my discarded ear wax.

I've done busts of all presidents up to #42...

for #43, I'm thinking of a different medium

I went to the doctor a while back and had mine flushed out with what appeared to be a high-end squirt gun. What a diffference! I thought, hey, I can do this. If a squirt gun works well, might a power washer work better? Doesn't take as long, either.

The nice thing about the power washer - especially if you use the narrow head - you only have to spray in one side because it shoots clear through one ear and out the other.
