Last week I got to have a dream come true and spend 3 days learning from my guitar playing idol. From 9 in the morning to about 9:30 at night, and a lot of guitar playing. His guitar is a pretty amazing piece of work, I actually got to spend some time playing it and now I want an "Adrian" special. The amount of classical music and technical knowledge this man has is incredible. If he comes back next year I'm definitely going. I have some great pictures but I'm not sure how to post them on here.

I spent a month with him one weekend.

I first met Adrian back in the 70's when he worked for our UK distributor doing set-up work on all guitars. He also was their demo man at trade shows. A long time since then and I'm glad to see him enjoying success. A great player and great guy.

Other than the fact that he is an amazing guitarist, both he and his wife are wonderful people and it was a pleasure to have met them.

I would have liked to have seen more people sign up for his class, although for selfish resons I liked our class.......myself and 2 other guys. Maybe if he comes back next year some of you can sign up. It would be at the Fur Peach Ranch (guitar camp) just south of Athens Ohio. It's a time you wouldn't forget.

I've found that classes like that are best with just a few people.

I met Adrian about 14 years ago at an Ovation workshop at one of the local music stores. He is a great guy, always willing to help and answer questions.

I asked him to sign the bowl of my 1681-8, and I got a picture of him signing it to keep in the case.

I made sure to get pleanty of pictures of which I'm going to mail him so he can autograph. I got a really cool picture of me playing his guitar and him trying to pull it out of my hands. One with me, him and my Adamas 2080.

If someone can post them for me I'll email 2-3 pics.

Okay...What's the story behind that almost-a-breadwinner looking guitar???

That's Adrian's road guitar. It fits in a gig bag and into the overhead bid on a plane so there's no baggage smashing.

What other classes did you take, or was it just Adrian?

Yes it does resemble a breadwinner, we actually discussed that. The bottom is shapped a little different, the guitar was made so that it doesn't put as much stress on the back creating that hunched over feeling, and yes it's 36 1/2" long. It's VERY comfortable to play and I think I'm going to have to see about getting one made for me. I have a rib problem and the Adamas 2080 with the deep contour bowl absolutely killed me over those three days. They don't make an "ergonomical" electric or acoustic guitar, especially one for a sit-down guitarist, and that's a shame.

The guitar may look funny, but man it's nice to play!!!

Glad you liked it. I've thought about the Jorma's school but just haven't gotten there yet. Been to NGW the last three and this year the Swanannoa Gathering in NC. Maybe sometime in the future.

I was a wonderful time and the food was excellent. I wasn't planing on spending that kind of money on a 4 day guitar camp, but when I seen that Adrian was going to be there I saved up. Probably wouldn't do it for anyone else, nothing against the camp. They have some great musicians there.
