Do you have a tattoo ?

If so what is it of and what is the meaning behind it ?

The wife and I always get Henna Tattoos everytime we go on vacation just for Shits & Giggles but no real ones yet.

Whats your story? GWB

I have 2, well actually 3 but one of the current 2 is a cover up on the oldest tattoo.

on my back left forearm is a reaper and scythe, bathed in fire.

on my back right forearm is a wizard and crystal ball floating on a cloud.

mayhem and magic.

the reaper tattoo was done to cover up a picture tattoo of an old friend/girlfriend/party-buddy of mine.

She was as beautiful as Kim Basinger.

found murdered in a ditch with a hunk of wood shoved down her throat.

Tammy Mcclellan. case still unsolved.

Came close to getting "W" tattooed on each of my butt cheeks once but sobered up real quick just after my jeans hit the floor. Never really thought about it since.

I have a bright red birthmark about the size of a half-dollar direct center on my left upper arm. I was self-conscious about it for years. One day, somebody remarked that they thought it was a cow's head tat gone bad. That did it. I designed a circle around the birthmark with an internal cross and flames extending out a few inches on both sides. The red birthmark appears inside the circle and has such a uniform color that it appears to be just part of a multi-colored tatoo. Even my wife thought it was an improvement.

I have three... None worth describing, All "Home-Made".

95% of the people with Tattoos would dearly love to get rid of them.
Just thought that I should mention that, in case you are considering one.

Then you get the guys with a list of blacked-out girlfriend's names...

"Dude, you didn't catch-on the first three times? That's seven in a row! At least you didn't get married!... Oh, you did!" :p

I know a guy that had a tatoo of Mickey Mouse done on his left bicep. But, the tatooist screwed it up...it looked horrible. So, he went to another tatoo guy and had a 'good' one done just below the 'bad' one. Then he had the second guy put a big, black 'X' through the bad one. It looks hilarious; like the tatooist started one, didn't like it and scribbled it out and started over.

But, I wouldn't want that on my arm. Although I do have a tatoo.

I got a temporary one (a butterfly) at my granddaughter's birthday party. Had it just long enough to satisfy whatever cravings for one I might have had.

I've actually wanted to get one for years. But the wife says NO WAY. Which is ironic because SHE has a small one on her ankle.

Sometimes you just gotta look at the ground "whatever you say, dear". And yes those are two guitar boxes on the front porch that UPS just delivered ...

I have one (that I can't show you), but it DOES say "Ovation" . . .

. . 'cept when I'm feeling "frisky", then it says "Overuse Can Lead to Exhaustion".

I've often thought about getting a "tribal" around my upper arm in the Rosette Pattern . . .

Brilliant!

Makes me wonder if there is anything you couldn't get away with if you threatened enough tats, piercings and ritual scarring.

It was the time I was in the French Navy (nuclear submarines...)
I've never regret it and I'm often thinking to have another one.

I told my daughter that the only place I would permit her to have a tatoo would be on the soles of her feet.

Ideally the only women with tatoos should be porn stars and biker chicks.

Don't most people get tats when they become sexually active? Once you make it out of your teens the urge for a tat generally diminishes.

No tats here, I have thought about my name on my forehead in case I get lost.
My grandfather when he came over from the old country was getting on the boat they wrote on his forehead TO NY when he arrived in NY they called him Tony. That's why so many Italians are named Tony.

I suppose I shouldn't be drinking beer as it's 7 in the morning here. But it's a public holiday down here in remembrance of a heap of young Australian soldiers who were killed in WW1 at Gallipoli in Turkey in 1915.

I took my wife and two kids to a dawn service this morning and it's traditional to have at least one cleansing ale to begin the day.

I have always wanted ink as long as I can remember. I really think the art is amazing, especially in recent years with the growing popularity. I just can't seem to find a design that I want, that means something, that will be a permanent part of me.

Really frustrating, as I have seriously looked at designs and talked to artists.

Oh well...

My only issue is the aging of the people wearing them. If it's a detailed one and you're, uh, "big", please, for the sake of everyone around you, don't turn 60. If that's not an issue, hell, I'm good with it.

Miles, that's why I have just the one. It took me a year to arrive at the design I used. I have just not had another perfect storm of desire, meaningfulness, and creativity that I had that first time.

as i mentioned, one of my five younger brothers is covered in tattoos. one of his best friends has a tattoo of his own face on top of his head. it was done very well and it is quite a freaky thing to see from a distance of about ten feet and further away. when he lowers his head to where his chin touches his chest, the 3D image of his face is still apparent and rather spooky. he also won several contests back in the late 70's and early 80's with that one.

I was in a bar a couple of weeks ago and there was a big guy, all leathered up, bald as could be. Never thought twice about him until he turned around...and showed me the face tattoo on the back of his head. Eyes, nose, mouth - the whole enchilada. Didn't say it there (I'm really not stupid despite all the reports) but it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life.

I had a bunch of uncles and relatives that had bad wwII tattoos. I remember when I was about 4 or 5 asking my dad what happened to my uncle's arm, he just whispered to me "that's he tatoo from the navy" It cured me from wanting any ever.

Until then ... just go ahead and make things up.

Yep... it's a free-for-all

I think the real story for pic #2 is the chick standing up a ways on the sidewalk with her hands on her hips.

i think the real story in photo #2 is the Help Wanted sign.
the guys in photo #1 kinda look like father and son. (dad ain't too happy with his baldness but son thinks its cool and fashionable)

To get back on topic - I've never been drunk enough to let a guy put a single prick in me, let alone a whole bunch of coloured ones.

OMI (THE BALD GUY) WHO IS ONE OF THE OWNERS OF MIAMI INK FOUND OUT I WAS IN THE O.F.C. AND ASKED ME IF I WOULD POSE FOR A PICTURE WITH HIM. BEING THE NICE O.F.C.ER THAT I AM I SAID YES.
(LANAKI) WHAT DO YOU MEAN FATHER & SON ? I LOOK MUCH YOUNGER THAN HIM !

I WISH I WOULD OF GOT HERE ALOT EARLIER TO DEFEND MY PICTURES.
SLIPKID DID I THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE??? IF SO I TAKE IT BACK......

Oh boy I got caught with my defenses down,I should of known better , but I enjoy ribbing as much as the next person.

Last week the wife & I were in South Beach and went by the Miami Ink tattoo studio and the owners and employees were outside taking a break from filming and we just went up and got some pictures with them.Thats my story and Im stickin to it.

Don't worry about it GWB. When Internet 2.0 fires up it will be just another cave dweller drawing!

As my forehead gets higher I am embracing that clean look more and more.

No offense taken at all Fillhixx. We like to have alot of fun around here poking jabs at each other.I think everyone here has gotten tuff skinned after joing this forum.

For instance take a look at Lanaki,
He claims not to have any tattoos anywhere on him and yet there he is in the second picture on the left.Look at his arms , he has tattoos all over them.

Tattoo you Lanaki,
(Balding father covering up his hair loss and his bald young son) My Ass.GWB

No tats here YET!

However my 23 year old son the artist, musician, father of my grandson, has so many that I have lost count. He designs each of them and seeks the right person to do them. He has been asked to apprentice (read Yoji, for those that watch Miami Ink) by many shops. The city that we live near (Greenville, SC) has just passed a tatto ordinence allowing shops to open under strict guidelines and he has accepted an apprentice position with the first shop to open in a few weeks. He will have to put in 1000 hours for free (unless the other tatto artists tip him) and pay about $2500 for certifications and the like. He has been looking for an avenue to express his artistic abilities for a while, but has to work to support his son at the same time. He has been unable to gig for $ since his child was born. He has had to learn life's responsibilities very quickly and painfully but has become an excellent, mature and loving father. He has my full support in his new adventure and will have any backing ($) he needs if it works out for him.

So back to the subject! No tatto YET, but I will be the first in line when he becomes able to tatto. It will have a family meaning of some sort, so I will start looking and thinking about what the tatto will be.

lol too many to count...

Its always cool to have people come up after shows and say... " I never thought that sound would come out"

I guess they see the tats and expect to hear Iron Maiden lol... or something on the loud and screaming level.

I take it as a compliment :)

Let your leg hair grow on the lion's mane. Shave the leg hair off of the lion's face.

actually this tattoo is coverup over a scar, which was VERY visibile in summer.
Two years ago while in France i had accident on quads. Guy crashed into me and my leg got between wheels of his quad and mine. And he didn't wait before i'd get out my leg from between machines, and he just started engine and rode away. Taking a lot of meat from my leg and leaving me bleeding and barely able to drive.
so, after seeing how is it visible when i'm suntanned i decided to cover it with tattoo.
