| I have 2, well actually 3 but one of the current 2 is a cover up on the oldest tattoo.
on my back left forearm is a reaper and scythe, bathed in fire.
on my back right forearm is a wizard and crystal ball floating on a cloud.
mayhem and magic.
the reaper tattoo was done to cover up a picture tattoo of an old friend/girlfriend/party-buddy of mine.
She was as beautiful as Kim Basinger.
found murdered in a ditch with a hunk of wood shoved down her throat.
Tammy Mcclellan. case still unsolved.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I have a bright red birthmark about the size of a half-dollar direct center on my left upper arm. I was self-conscious about it for years. One day, somebody remarked that they thought it was a cow's head tat gone bad. That did it. I designed a circle around the birthmark with an internal cross and flames extending out a few inches on both sides. The red birthmark appears inside the circle and has such a uniform color that it appears to be just part of a multi-colored tatoo. Even my wife thought it was an improvement. |

Just thought that I should mention that, in case you are considering one.
Then you get the guys with a list of blacked-out girlfriend's names...

...Then you get the guys with a list of blacked-out girlfriend's names... I know a guy that had a tatoo of Mickey Mouse done on his left bicep. But, the tatooist screwed it up...it looked horrible. So, he went to another tatoo guy and had a 'good' one done just below the 'bad' one. Then he had the second guy put a big, black 'X' through the bad one. It looks hilarious; like the tatooist started one, didn't like it and scribbled it out and started over.
But, I wouldn't want that on my arm. Although I do have a tatoo. |

Makes me wonder if there is anything you couldn't get away with if you threatened enough tats, piercings and ritual scarring. |

Really frustrating, as I have seriously looked at designs and talked to artists.

However my 23 year old son the artist, musician, father of my grandson, has so many that I have lost count. He designs each of them and seeks the right person to do them. He has been asked to apprentice (read Yoji, for those that watch Miami Ink) by many shops. The city that we live near (Greenville, SC) has just passed a tatto ordinence allowing shops to open under strict guidelines and he has accepted an apprentice position with the first shop to open in a few weeks. He will have to put in 1000 hours for free (unless the other tatto artists tip him) and pay about $2500 for certifications and the like. He has been looking for an avenue to express his artistic abilities for a while, but has to work to support his son at the same time. He has been unable to gig for $ since his child was born. He has had to learn life's responsibilities very quickly and painfully but has become an excellent, mature and loving father. He has my full support in his new adventure and will have any backing ($) he needs if it works out for him.
So back to the subject! No tatto YET, but I will be the first in line when he becomes able to tatto. It will have a family meaning of some sort, so I will start looking and thinking about what the tatto will be. |

Its always cool to have people come up after shows and say... " I never thought that sound would come out"
I guess they see the tats and expect to hear Iron Maiden lol... or something on the loud and screaming level.
I take it as a compliment :) |

Location: Tychy, Poland | actually this tattoo is coverup over a scar, which was VERY visibile in summer.
Two years ago while in France i had accident on quads. Guy crashed into me and my leg got between wheels of his quad and mine. And he didn't wait before i'd get out my leg from between machines, and he just started engine and rode away. Taking a lot of meat from my leg and leaving me bleeding and barely able to drive.
so, after seeing how is it visible when i'm suntanned i decided to cover it with tattoo. |
